Danny Tol and Wouter Swijgman met in Amsterdam in 2013 and have been making music together ever since. In 2023, they decided to form DECAY/REBIRTH, a daring two-person project. Despite their small lineup, they deliver a wall of sound live—thanks in part to a variety of self-produced samples and backing tracks.
They blend alternative rock with electronic influences, creating energetic yet mysterious music that others have also described as ‘avant-garde’. Danny sings and plays bass, guitar, and synthesizer; Wouter drums and activates various sounds on a drum pad. They also handle all the mixing and mastering of their recorded music themselves.
